 reflections in the surf

After a nearly 10 year absence, Tiki Joe's Ocean returns to classic Exotica sounds with an homage to the most loved and also long forgotten Exotica songs, including a few standards, but mostly rare, deep cuts.
A pivotal moment at the onset involved the inclusion of Sammy Nazzal, 17, who agreed to co-produce and subsequently master this project while serving as lead percussionist throughout.
"Reflections in the Surf" best encapsulate our joys and appreciation
for these amazing musicians we are honored to celebrate and reflect.

Under the midnight sun

* BEST EXOTICA ALBUM: 2010 HAWAII MUSIC AWARDS *

The tremendous path that became "Under the Midnight Sun/UTMS" was created by word of mouth (& ears!)
While attending Tiki Oasis 2009, news swiftly spread about Andy's debut album, released just weeks before. Approached by both Dave "Squid" Cohen (Drums) and Mark "Marty Lush" Riddle (Vibraphone) on separate occasions, the foundations for UTMS began that weekend. A chance online ad then gave us Arthur Lyman's great nephew in the wonderful guitarist, Alika, and Andy's friend, the brilliant Jimmy Virani (who just happened to fly in from France during the recording!) gifted his incredibly deft Theremin skills
to solidify this uniquely celebrated, 21st Century reconnection to Exotica.

CHRISTMAS with TJO vol 1

In 2010, there were very few contemporary Exotica/Latin/Lounge influenced Christmas albums out there, and that's still the case! Tiki Joe's Ocean brought back the talent that shone on "Under the Midnight Sun" to create this incredibly fun, celebratory album. The songs were so successful they were used throughout the malls of Canada during Christmas seasons. YOUR Christmas wouldn't be complete without Christmas with TJO vol 1 !!

Soul of the Sea

After three highly successful years in the Exotica world, culminating with the headlining TJO performance at the historic Bali Hai in San Diego during Tiki Oasis 11, Andy took a decidedly more focused turn into the land of Neo-Exotica with this 2012 release, contemporizing the style and feel of the classic sound. The gifted violinist Enrico Doan was brought in to provide his strings and Mr. Marty Lush returns with vibraphone sounds aplenty.
"Soul of the Sea" is arguably TJO's most uniquely produced and sought after album.
"Multi-instrumentalist/composer Andy Nazzal has created a serene but vigorous, Latin-Lounge influenced album that's straight-up addicting. The opener, "Hotter in the Shade" is overflowing with classy piano, bongo drums and three helpings of soul."

CHRISTMAS with TJO vol 2

At the insistence of TJO fans worldwide, Christmas with Tiki Joe's Ocean Vol 2 was released in 2016. Having studied alongside his father as he composed and produced, young Sammy Nazzal added a half dozen percussion tracks to the project, showcasing his burgeoning talent as a musician. Joining in is steadfast collaborator Marty Lush on vibes with TJO veteran and great-nephew to the iconic Arthur Lyman, Alika Lyman on guitar, with the late, great Jack Aldrich on Hawaiian steel guitar.
